Introducing Konami Code!
Like many of you, gaming was an influential part of my childhood. Galaga in the arcade, Super Mario on the NES, Crazy Taxi on the Sega Dreamcast, as well as Goldeneye and Starfox on the N64 were staples for my brother and me growing up. Weekend sleepovers with neighborhood kids playing split-screen and organizing LAN parties with friends are some of my most cherished memories.
I don't get nearly as much time to pick up the controller as I used to, but gaming has always been a part of my life, which is why I wanted to do a gaming-themed glass. However, I had trouble deciding on a design. I wanted it to be timeliness, and I didn't want it to focus only on one game, system, or genre. After hours of thinking about it, I eventually landed on the Komani Code.
Sure it originated with Gradius and Contra on the NES, but now it's become a pop-culture icon of its own. You find it in countless video games as well as Easter eggs in websites, software, and more.
About the design
The Konami Code is a cheat code that initially appeared in Gradius on the NES but rose in popularity in the NES version of Contra (which is why it's sometimes referred to as the "Contra Code").
Developer Kazuhisa Hashimoto was developing the home port of Gradius for the NES but found the game too difficult to play through. He created the code to unlock all the power-ups (typically accumulated as you played through the game) and forgot to remove it before the game was published. Since the code wasn't something that could accidentally be entered during gameplay, the developers decided to leave it for fun (and removing it might have caused new bugs in the code).
It was included in several subsequent sequels and went on to be incorporated into many other games and franchises across different systems. There are variations of the code, but this design features the most popular one printed in reflective gold.
Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, START

Arc Nordic Cooler - 17 oz. Capacity
The Arc Nordic Cooler is a solid "go-to" glass for just about any style of beer; however, it's most known for being perfect for IPAs and Pale Ales. It has a higher capacity (17 ounces) than most glasses, which means it's going to fit that 16 oz tallboy easily with enough room for a nice head. Glassware Care

I do not recommend putting these glasses in the dishwasher. Hand wash with soap and water and let them air dry. If you don't, there is a chance the gold will flake or come off. These glasses contain precious metals, so never place them in the microwave.
