Introducing Crossing of the Delaware!
Last year we released the Don't Tread On Me Rastal Craft Master One glass to commemorate Independence Day, and since then people have been asking me if SBG will release a new July 4th glass in 2020... Hell yea we are! This year I decided to look back at one of the most infamous (and badass) military maneuvers in America's fight for Independence - Washington's crossing of the Delaware River. You probably know the painting, but if you're like me, you might have forgotten how absurd Washington's crossing of the Delaware river was.
On Christmas night in 1776, George Washington secretly led a group of Continental Army troops through the icy Delaware River to defeat the Hessians in a surprise attack.
Despite the fact that the crossings of two other units were unsuccessful and a massive storm started just as Washington's unit began crossing the river, the attack was successful and his troops returned with prisoners, weapons, and other military stores.
The action was the first move in a surprise attack and victory against Hessian forces at the Battle of Trenton in New Jersey.
About the design
The glass features the famous 1851 oil-on-canvas painting by the German-American artist Emanuel Leutze - Washington Crossing the Delaware - printed in color on the 17 oz. Arc Nordic Cooler glass.
The original was part of the collection at the Kunsthalle in Bremen, Germany, and was destroyed in a bombing raid in 1942, during World War II. Leutze painted two more versions, one of which is now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The other was in the West Wing reception area of the White House in Washington, D.C., but in March 2015, was put on display at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, Minnesota.
Glassware Information
Arc Nordic Cooler - 17 oz. Capacity
The Arc Nordic Cooler is a solid "go-to" glass for just about any style of beer; however, it's most known for being perfect for IPAs and Pale Ales. It has a higher capacity (17 ounces) than most glasses, which means it's going to fit that 16 oz tallboy easily with enough room for a nice head. The Nordic Cooler feels excellent in your hand (it's hard to explain, but as soon as you pick it up you'll understand), and is unique enough to stand out while being subtle enough to sneak some water in (I won't tell anyone).
Glassware Care
Here is a guide I wrote that details the best way for you to clean your glassware properly.
I do not recommend putting these glasses in the dishwasher. Hand wash with soap and water and let them air dry. If you don't, there is a chance the gold will flake or come off. These glasses contain precious metals, so never place them in the microwave.
