Introducing Glass 27 - and our first glass of 2023 - Creation.
Please note! This comes as a set of two glasses.
Everyone knows the infamous fresco painting by Michelangelo, The Creation of Adam, which details the Biblical narrative of the creation, and forms a central part of the Sistine Chapel's ceiling.
What you didn't know is that Michelangelo originally designed the fresco to have God hitting Adam with a healthy pour of his favorite, super dank West Coast IPA. However when it came time to slap that bad boy on the ceiling, they had to make some last minute changes.
Apparently Pope Julius II thought God getting lit with Adam wasn't appropriate for the church or something, so instead they went with the way less-fun backup plan of God and Adam gingerly touching their (finger) tips.
Isn't history fun?
About the Design
Glass 27 is printed in reflective gold, and includes a gold rim around the lip.
The beautifully illustrated recreation of the true OG version of The Creation of Adam was done by none other than August Lamm, the artist also behind our Whale Tasting Glass Set and our Epic Blue teku glass.
It features the Big Man Upstairs pouring Adam a taste of one of the beers from deep in his heavenly cellar.
Glassware Information
10 oz. Cardinal Nonic Tumbler - This is one of my favorite casual drinking glasses, and one I've wanted to use for SBG for a long time. It's a classic English pub-style glass with a ridged shape near the top to help maintain carbonation.
It's simple, elegant, and crazy versatile. I use it all the time just having a casual beer by myself, but they're the perfect size and shape for sharing, which is why we're selling these by default as a set of two.
Glassware Care
Here is a guide I wrote that details the best way for you to properly clean your glassware. It's technically written for Teku and other stemware but the principles are the same. Below are some basic guidelines.
-
No microwaving - This glass contains precious metals, so never put it in the microwave, unless you wanna see those sparks fly
- Hand wash - I've put my gold printed glasses through the wash, but I don't recommend it. I suggest hand washing these with soap and water, and then letting them air dry.
